How we are funded

The majority of our annual operating budget comes from The Cataract Bean Dinner, the first weekend of October every year.

Our next largest source of revenue is a portion of our communities’ tax dollars. That is equal to $15,000 a year. We cover 1750 households, which comes up to $8.57 a year per household on average; more or less dependent on how many acres the household has attached to it.

Funding Sources

The CVFD members work year-round doing community events, and outreach to keep these funds coming in.

Cataract Bean Dinner

The Cataract Volunteer Fire Department relies on our annual Cataract Fundraising Bean Dinner for 61% of our funding year-to-year.

Donations

A small rural fire department has items that they need to help our community. If you're wanting to make a donation or memorial that will give back to the community, why not consider donating to the Cataract Volunteer Fire Department?
